Prior to becoming a freelancer, Deborah spent 15 years working in the field of education. In her early years, she served as an education coordinator for the Child Assault Prevention Program (CAPP) and Teen Awareness Program: programs empowering students in kindergarten through grade 12 via role-plays and discussions on how to handle bullies, stranger danger, and sexual assault and/or abuse. She later worked as a social worker providing supervision and counseling in parent/child relationships and parenting skills to high risk families.

Deborah has worked as a social science faculty member, program coordinator, and director of a college crisis counseling center. She developed a peer counseling program H.O.P.E. (Helping Out Peers Emotionally), and has taught countless undergraduate psychology and sociology courses. Most recently, Deborah was an administrator (Dean of Students/Assistant Principal) at a K-12 where she dealt with bullying issues on a regular basis.

Deborah holds a master's degree in community social psychology and a bachelor's degree in psychology. Her awards include the University Medal for Distinguished Public Service from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, People Who Make a Difference Award from Middlesex Community College, the President's Award for Excellence and the Teaching Excellence Award from Bay State College.
