John I. Carney

John I. Carney is an employee of Bedford County, Tennessee, government who previously spent 34 ½ years as a reporter and editor for the Shelbyville Times-Gazette. He is a certified lay servant / lay speaker in the United Methodist Church -- not an ordained minister, but someone available to fill the pulpit when necessary. He has taken numerous foreign mission trips, which inspired his novel “Soapstone.”
