Steve Marvin was born in New York City in 1943 as the only child of a Vaudeville Song & Dance team: Marvin & White. After being skipped a grade in the NYC school system he graduated HS at 16, took a year off to play cards and then attended the University of Kansas.
Married at 19 he dropped out of school. To feed his two wonderful sons Richard and Bob he got involved in producing commercials and working on feature films as a DGA 1st AD and spent the next 26 years doing so.
Retiring at 45 in 1989 he moved to New Mexico and later Texas where he raced Quarter Horses and bred Thoroughbred bloodstock for sale.
His first novel APPROACHING LOSS was selected as a Finalist for the 2008 New Mexico Book Awards.
He presently lives in Pensacola, Fl. with his wife watercolorist Cecile Hines and their gata blanca Gracie.
