I started my career in emergency care as a volunteer firefighter in Pensacola FL at The Ferry Pass Volunteer Fire Department. While with the fire department he became certified as a DOT-First Responder and began doing rescue and EMS work with the fire department. Later I dual enrolled in nursing school and EMT training and passed both. Then started working part-time for the local EMS department and working part-time as a staff RN in the Emergency Department.
I completed my master's degree in nursing with credentials as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.
I have worked from the small community based 6 bed ER to the large university teaching hospital with 100+ ER Beds.
I have continued to work on his post-graduate education at Clemson University working on a Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Education. This curriculum has included courses in educational needs assessments and testing & evaluation design and principles.
I am one of only a handful of full time clinicians to hold all FIVE BCEN credentials: the Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN), Certified Pediatric Registered Nurse (CPEN) and Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN).
