Julia Blelock grew up in Woodstock, New York. Her parents prohibited her from attending the 1969 festival in Bethel, promising that she could "go next year." Recovering from this major disappointment, she began a publishing career in Manhattan, later switching to the field of information technology. In 1999, after living and working for many years in New York and Los Angeles, she returned to Woodstock. There she has continued her sales and marketing activities in the high-tech sector and she has worked locally on cultural tourism initiatives. Julia has returned to her publishing roots with WoodstockArts, of which she is a co-founder. WoodstockArts released the award-winning "art book edition" of Anita M. Smith's Woodstock History and Hearsay in 2006. Another of the firm's titles is It Happened in Woodstock.
