M. Bradley Davis

M. Bradley Davis was born in Houston, Texas in 1958. After graduating high school and college, he became an elementary school teacher. Mr. Davis taught fourth grade for thirteen years during the 1980s and 1990s. Since that time, he has served as the school district's Assistant Director of Technology & Network Administrator.

Mr. Davis published his first book (spurred on by his former students), The Hand in the Mirror, shortly after leaving the elementary classroom. He writes for readers in upper elementary and middle school, ages 9-14. His stories are written to encourage young people to think, value themselves, and respect those around them.

The Hand in the Mirror earned notice as an Award Finalist in the ForeWord Magazine 2003 Book of the Year Competition in the category of Fiction/SciFi. It was also recognized in 2012 as a Science Fiction Honorable Mention book in the 2012 Hollywood Book Festival. The Hand in the Mirror is the first volume in the MindFusion series of science fiction novels. Two additional volumes have been published: The Canopus Conundrum and Encounter at Lalor.

Encounter at Lalor, MindFusion Book 3 was also an Award Finalist in Science Fiction as part of the National Best Books Awards 2008 competition sponsored by USA Book News.

Mr. Davis writes more than just science fiction. He has a realistic fiction series about gifted high school musicians. It's called the Musica Con Fuoco, or Music with Fire series. A Spark of Magic and The Broken Violin are the first two books in this series; Arianne's Waltz, Musica Con Fuoco Op. 3, appeared in publication in November of 2011. The fourth volume in the series, I'll Be Seeing You, was released in November of 2013.

He also has an historical fiction/fantasy series, The Swords Through Time series. This series contains two books at present, The Enchanted Rapiers and The Reluctant Prince. These stories are about a pair of cousins who discover an ancient set of matched swords have the power to take them through time so they can rediscover their family's influence and history lost over the past five hundred years.

Finally, Mr. Davis also has a fantasy novel in publication. That novel is called Tunnel of Dreams.

Mr. Davis is writing on several more books, so readers can look forward to new stories in the coming months!

Mr. Davis enjoys interaction with young people. Many of the students around him find bits and pieces of themselves in his characters. Mr. Davis is active in his church and community. His hobbies include reading, photography, and amateur astronomy.

Mr. Davis recently moved from the Texas Hill Country to the city of Houston. He retired from public education in June, 2013, after twenty-eight years of service, and plans to focus on writing more books.
