A transplanted southern boy, I now make my home in Kansas City, Missouri. After serving as a Russian linguist in the United States Army, I went on to study journalism and communications at the University of North Texas.
I have been a freelance contributor, staff writer, and photographer for newspapers across the country and internationally. While working at a small newspaper in Texas, I wrote a non-fiction book titled “Reflections: A Folklore History of Lewisville, Texas.” The book was published in August 2002.
I have published more than two dozen short stories in various fiction magazines, including Futures Mysterious Anthology Magazine.
The seed for Life & Death was planted many years ago when I lived in Daleville, Alabama. A boy named Eddie Shannon was murdered on the Old Bridge on 92. Inspired by the thought of what a horrible, lonely place it was to die, I wrote this story to capture the fear, the loneliness, and the desperation Eddie must have felt.
I am currently working on two other books. One is a comic thriller about dead girlfriends. The other is a YA mystery about four boys who disappear into the woods of Elba, Alabama.
