William N. Chiu

William Chiu was born in Manhattan. He is currently attending PS196 in Forest Hills, New York City. Symbol of Harmony is his first published novel written during the summer of 2008, after 4th grade.

"I wrote a novel to share with other children and their parents how my friends and I see current events in the world. I want people to know that children can help solve the world's conflicts too," said William Chiu.

The 10 year old writer just turned three when 9/11 occurred. The novel reflects the perspectives of young children growing up with recessed memories of the World Trade Center collapse.

William Chiu loves the museums of New York and is a big Yankees fan. He reads broadly and enjoys music. He plays baseball in the Forest Hills Little League, sings in his school chorus and acts in a Theater Arts Program. He is trained in classical music. His favorite composer is Frederic Chopin.
