ALEX SHAW spent the second half of the 1990s in Kyiv, Ukraine running his own business consultancy before being head-hunted for a division of Siemens. The next few years saw him doing business for the company across the former USSR, the Middle East, and Africa. Most recently he has spent several years in Qatar and the UAE.
Alex is an active member of the ITW (The International Thriller Writers organisation) and the CWA (the Crime Writers Association). He is the author of four international bestselling thriller series featuring WOLF SIX, AIDAN SNOW, JACK TATE, and SOPHIE RACINE. His writing has also been published in several thriller anthologies, and he is the author of the standalone, cult hit, 'Delta Force Vampire: Insurgency'.
TOTAL BLACKOUT, his first Jack Tate thriller, was Shortlisted for the 2021 WILBUR SMITH ADVENTURE WRITING PRIZE – BEST PUBLISHED NOVEL.
WOLF SIX, his first Ruslan Akulov thriller is currently nominated for the 2026 BARRY AWARD - BEST PAPERBACK ORIGINAL MYSTERY
Alex is commercially published by HQ HARPERCOLLINS and BOLDWOOD BOOKS in English and LUZIFER VERLAG in German.
His next thriller CODENAME: 61 - will be published on the 4th of August and is the first thriller following the cold war adventures of Jim Tate and Adrian Snow, the grandfathers of his well loved characters Jack Tate and Aidan Snow.
