John Thomas Wood, PhD, is an author and artist living in San Diego. The author of nine books on human behavior, he has devoted the last forty years of his life to empowering and encouraging individuals and organizations to reach their highest potential. During that time he has served as a psychotherapist, university instructor, consultant and workshop leader, working throughout the United States, Western Europe and in Mexico.

Dr. Wood spent seventeen years as a resident fellow at Center for Studies of the Person in La Jolla, California, working with Carl Rogers and other humanists to apply the ideas and practices of client centered therapy to education, politics, health care, group therapy, international relations and business. He has a special interest in the philosophy and practice of power and the use of power in personal relationships, families and organizations.

As a consultant Dr. Wood has worked in cross cultural settings, universities, large business, health care and varying levels of government. Over the past thirty years he has traveled and worked throughout Europe and, for four years, led a program in the U.S. and Holland aimed at improving the person-to-person skills of physicians.

In addition to writing, he brings a unique perspective to the creation of digital artwork and has large fine art prints hanging in homes and offices in this country and abroad.
