G. Warlock Vance is a professor of American Literature. He earned his BA and MA degrees at Kent State University, and his Ph.D through the University of NC at Greensboro. His fields of study include American Pulp Fiction, Postmodern literature, Spy/Mystery fiction (he focuses largely on the various Scandinavian writers, and the works of British author John le Carré), and Latino authors Roberto Bolaño, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, and Arturo Pérez-Reverte.
Warlock has published a book of literary criticism, and several articles, on American writer H. P. Lovecraft. He is also the author of numerous short stories, novellas, poems, essays, reviews, and bibliographical material. His writing has appeared in anthologies such as:
