Johnny O'Brien

Johnny is a UK based writer, originally from Scotland. Johnny is the author of the Jack Christie books originally published in the UK, China, the US and Turkey by Templar Books and Bonnier Zaffre publishing. The books are time travel adventures where the hero, Jack, travels back in time to turning points in history that changed the world. 'Day of the Assassins' was shortlisted for the BBC History Magazine/ Historical Association ‘Young Quills Award’. It was also long-listed for the Branford Boase Award, the Book Trust Booked Up programme and the Catalyst Book Award.

- 'Day of the Assassins' is based around the build up to World War 1 and the assassination in Sarajevo.

- 'Day of Deliverance' focuses on the Elizabethan period, the Armada and the world of Shakespeare and Marlowe.

- 'Day of Vengeance' takes Jack to the Fall of France in 1940 and Hitler's visit to Paris, the Battle of Britain and the Nazi Vengeance programme.

- 'Day of Rebellion' is about China and The Taiping Rebellion in 1860.

Johnny has spoken extensively about writing and history at schools and literary events.
