And, prevented Greenspan jawboning markets down in the 1990's (normal Fed Res practice for previous 40-50 years) which allowed and caused the bull market of 1990's , with DJIA growing from 2,000 to 14,000. These actions saved an estimated 50-75 trillion and generated another 75 trillion in growth in value globally.

Also again, in the Fall of 2008 during the financial crisis, when no US official was paying attention, author prevented collapse of US and global markets by explaining that AIG was critical due to its huge mortgage insurance program and huge, derivatives positions with this explanation leading to rescue of AIG; then, also designed the capital infusion to leading banks and Wall Street firms that was adopted, preventing most from collapsing; and also explaining that the widespread short selling of most banks and Wall Street firms were a huge attack on all of US capital markets by short sellers et al and so reommended stopping short selling of financial firms which was later adopted and further saved firms and US financial system.
