Writing, photography, and teaching are passions of mine. During the early 1980's, my career began in commercial photography. With the release of Photoshop 2.5 and later the original versions of Dreamweaver and Fireworks, I became involved in the world of digital imaging, and soon began designing for the web in addition to taking photographs. I was hooked, and moved primarily into digital imaging and web design. Even back then, however, I always wanted to teach.
I currently teach imaging, Web design, and photography in Toronto at Centennial College's Centre for Communication, Media, and Design and at Humber College's Digital Imaging Training Centre.
I'm a frequent contributor of articles on Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and other general web topics to the Community MX Web site and have presented at Adobe Max as well as several other conferences. I have also written the Fireworks CS4 Classroom in a Book, and the latest edition for Fireworks CS5. You can also watch and learn by following along in my video training titles for Layers magazine and Lynda.com.
While I still shoot commercially on occasion, my photography has mainly become a passionate hobby of mine. I'm not often seen without a camera, and I happily share my images on flickr.com.
I have a penchant for colorful Hawaiian shirts (I've even been recognized by total strangers, based on my - umm - fashion choice), and love to spoil my cat, Hunny.
