I am a San Francisco Bay Area poet and have lived in the Bay Area since 1964. I have published to date eight books of poems: "Corm" (Oyez: Berkeley, 1974), "Mediterranean Sonnets" (North Atlantic Books: Berkeley, 1988), "Concrete Visual Shaped" (Light Gravity Press: Berkeley, 2006), "Only Emotion Endures" (AuthorHouse: Bloomington, 2009), "The Fifth World" (AuthorHouse: Bloomington, 2010), "Lonely Nights and Wild Women" (AuthorHouse: Bloomington, 2011), "Eros Raving" (AuthorHouse: Bloomington, 2017) a translation of a book of poems, "Eros Energumene" (Editions du Seuil: Paris, 1968; 2001) by the well-known French poet and photographer, Denis Roche, and "Love Songs for a Certain Age" (AuthorHouse: Bloomington, 2018). I am the owner and founder of Light Gravity Press, where I have also published broadsides of my concrete, visual and shaped poems, some of which may be seen on my website at www.cebulski.net. I am also writing a long poem, a work in progress (WIP), titled "The Triumph of Death at Pisa." I studied physics and English at the University of Colorado, and British and American literature at the universities of Cincinnati, California at Berkeley, and Kings College, London. I was Bancroft Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and Fulbright Lecturer to France at the University of Metz. I was a contributing editor for "Artweek" for over thirty years, and I have written art criticism for "Art in America" and "Sculpture." I was the first Director of Technical and Professional Writing at San Francisco State University. I have taught English and American literature, writing, poetry, and creative writing at the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Metz, France, the University of San Francisco, San Jose State University, San Francisco State University, Contra Costa College, and the University of Cincinnati.
