Robert W. Boyer (1950-) was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He moved to the Seattle area in 1969 where he now lives with his wife, children, and two decidedly insane dogs. Always interested in theological points of view and a persistent seeker of the truth, he studied religious prophecy and began considering how some prophecies had come to pass while others had not. The idea for Gilman's Parallel occurred to him one night when he was setting his first computer up and, once he got it running, he stayed up that night writing the first chapter.
