Sara E. Lewis

Sara E. Lewis (1955) grew up in Gloucester, Virginia. After brief periods in Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Jackson, Mississippi, she settled in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1982. She has worked primarily in museums and businesses as a curator, product manager, and marketing communicator. Her eclectic interests include history, genealogy, gardening, and nature. She holds undergraduate degrees in history and fine arts and a master's in business from the College of William and Mary as well as a master's degree in art history from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2009, she returned to school to earn a master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University. As a freelance writer, she has published articles locally, nationally, and internationally since 1976 and books since 2003. Chesapeake history and the environment are her favorite topics.
