Gloria Glenn

Gloria Glenn was born in Jacksonville, Florida. She had an identical twin who also wrote books. She received a B.A. degree in English from Jacksonville University and an M.A. in Special Education from Florida State University. She taught special education and language arts on the Space Coast for 16 years and became a free-lance writer for Florida Today. Two of her favorite pastimes were watching shuttle launches (She saw the first shuttle fly in piggyback.) and observing sea turtles nesting on the beach. She attended conferences on the west coast of Florida, where she met members of the Longboat Key Turtle Watch Patrol. As her mentors, they took her on turtle walks to rescue the eggs of these endangered species. In addition, she read scientific papers and any other information she could find. She also was a member of the Sea Turtle Preservation Society in Melbourne, Florida. Gloria has published short stories and poetry in Wee Wisdom, Guide, Pockets, and Highlights for Children, and has contributed to Moody Magazine, Pentecostal Evangel, Lutheran Digest, and other periodicals. She lives in Mebane, North Carolina, with her retired racing greyhound, Polly.
