Michael LeFan (1946- ) was born in San Antonio, Texas, to a preacher's family, grew up in Baytown, Texas, until age 5, and then moved to Temple, Texas, where he lives today. A rare occurance among preachers' kids, he and his siblings went through school in that single city. Since 1970 he has been an "independent contractor" supplying magazine articles to many national and regional publications, as well as creating public relations copy for a variety of businesses. This included ghostwriting personalized ad columns for business owners. He has written and self-syndicated two of his own newspaper columns--"More For Your Money" and "Is That A Fact!" (a trivia feature). His first book, "Patience, My Foot," won the Christian Service in Journalism Award from Abilene Christian University in 1995. Since then LeFan has written five additional books, and is working on two more. Other authors also employ LeFan to copyedit their book manuscripts.
