I published my first book, Curse of the Jack-o-Lantern, in 2009 as a birthday present to myself. In August of 2013, I finally completed Jack's story and the trilogy with the new book by the same title.
Being a massage therapist for twenty years has allowed me the flexibility to be "Mr. Mom", a stay-at-home father for my two children. And it is here where the genesis of my story telling/writing began, as an attempt to get them to eat their lunch which consisted heavily of vegetables.
I started with my childhood adventures, telling the "really good ones" over and over until Hannah asked me to tell her a "new" story. I freaked internally, panic set in before I could breath. I was out of material! I was never known for my great story telling and I didn't want to disappoint my favorite audience. Turning away from the stares of anticipation, I said a quick prayer and looked out picture window in our kitchen for inspiration. the story of a little Indian boy and his grandfather poured out of me. I was thrilled and shocked at the same time. I finally worked up the courage to face my audience, they had finished every bit of vegetation and were staring with rapt attention. Two weeks later I decided that I had better write that Indian story down for future reference and when I did it came back to my mind verbatim. "Little Feather" had started it all and "Curse of the Jack-o-Lantern" is the first published effort of those early stories.
Transitioning from one career to the next is challenging me for time but with the love and support from my family and reader like you, it is happening. Thank you.
