I have been a wealth manager, financial adviser, attorney and CPA for more than 25 years. I was a founding partners of Terra Securities and experienced firsthand the extraordinary growth that ended with us selling the company to GE in 1998. It was a wild ride, going from a minuscule partnership to one of the largest companies in the world, and I loved every minute of it. Well, almost every minute.

I served in the giant company, but my first love was always working directly with clients. I'm finally back with my own clients as one of the founders of Forum Financial--and I want to share what I have learned. I hope that telling my own story, along with lots of stories about my clients, will make reading this book an interesting and enjoyable way to learn about wealth management.
