Jody Cohan-French has always enjoyed working with children and teens, whether as a ski instructor or tennis coach, so it was only natural when she applied her coaching talents to writing. Her latest book, THE WRITE WAY INTO COLLEGE, is a compilation of advice she has given to her students over the past years along with many of their essays and excerpts as examples.
Jody loves working as a college application essay coach and has proudly watched her students gain entry to their dream universities from California to the Ivy League. She has also trained other college essay writing consultants. Jody is a volunteer mentor with WriteGirl, a non-profit organization in Los Angeles that empowers teen girls through writing, where she supports the Education Team.
Raised in Los Angeles in family of sports enthusiasts, Jody gathered with her sisters and parents every Saturday afternoon during her youth to watch the groundbreaking sports anthology program, ABC’S WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS. Decades later, Jody was introduced to Doug Wilson, the 17-time Emmy Award winner and legendary producer/director, who wanted to write a book about his incredible fifty-year journey spanning the globe with ABC Sports. Their meeting was kismet and resulted in the book THE WORLD WAS OUR STAGE, which won several awards.
Jody earned a Bachelor of Arts in Motion-Picture Television from UCLA and also attended The American Film Institute as a Screenwriting Fellow. She worked in film and television in both corporate and production capacities before turning her focus to writing. A resident of Southern California, Jody heads up to Sierras often to enjoy the great outdoors.
