Mysore N. Prakash was born and educated in India. He came to the United States in 1978 to pursue graduate studies at State University of New York at Buffalo where he received his Ph.D., in 1981.

Mysore's interests include World History, History of Religions, and Dharma Theology. His first novel "The Courtesan and the Sadhu (a novel about Māya, Dharma, and God)" brings aspects from all three areas to illustrate the moral struggles experienced by both individuals and societies as a whole.

His other interests include tennis, gardening, and music. He is currently working on his second novel (Yogi and Johan) about a Texas teenager who travels to the Himalayas to meet a yogi.
