James Wegert

James Wegert has three college degrees - but he's learned the most from the School of Hard Knocks (making bad choices). He has over twenty years of experience working with young people at the Boys' Club, a children's home, the "Y", and in schools as a school counselor. He also has experience as a volunteer Sunday School teacher and church youth group leader. Based upon his experience, he's learned that unfortunately many people make dating choices mainly based upon whether or not they like someone and/or looks. In addition, he's learned that many people don't have enough good information about dating before dating and during dating - and this lack of information combined with the influence of our popular culture and the media causes them to make bad dating choices that often have a lasting negative effect on their lives. He wrote the books True Love Lasts (for teens through young adults) with a character emphasis as well as Straight Talk About Teen Dating (for ages preteen-19) and Straight Talk About Dating (for ages 20 and up) with a Christian emphasis in order to provide readers with much of the information that they need and to inspire them to continue on their journey of preparing themselves for dating. As a school counselor he couldn't just sit back and watch his students damage their lives by making bad dating choices without trying to do more to help. These three books were written to help people have healthy dating relationships, to find true love, and to eventually have a lifelong loving marriage. His most recent book, "How to become a strong person and build a good life", was written to give students, young adults, and parents information about the five tools that are needed in order for a person to become strong and how to use those tools to build a good life.
