ABOUT THAT PEN NAME:
"Growing up we always had a dog, from stray mixed breeds to purchased purebreds. Our mother (Erin Amon) could not say no to a four-legged fur ball that one of us brought home. With seven children, it amazes us how she could be willing to take on another mouth to feed. There was Rebel, Rusty, Bach and Dusty to name just a few. All of them enriched our lives as we moved from childhood into our teen and adult years. But then in the early 1980’s, there was Daisy.
Daisy was our mother’s dog. She was a small gray and black mixed breed. She had the unconditional love of a baby, the playfulness of a toddler, a small expressive face with big eyes, the energy of an adolescent, and the loyalty to our mother of a guardian angel. Daisy was the first dog in our household allowed on the couch.
It was amazing to us how that small dog could bring so much laughter, comfort and love to our mother’s life. The relationship between them was different than her relationship with the many other dogs we had growing up. There was such a close bond between them. And, in the final year of our mother’s life when she was battling cancer, Daisy was there supporting her, still making her laugh, calming her and resting with her. Looking back, we realized Daisy was probably our first experience with a *Poo.
We tried to re-create that relationship through the various purebreds and mixed breeds each of us has owned during our adult years. And while we have owned some great dogs, none can compare to the relationships we now have with our *Poos. Each of us has a different *Poo. Laura has Cockapoos. Tana has a Lhasapoo and Eden, a Yorkipoo. We have found our Daisy." BY EDEN PURDY
It was when we were each trying to decide on what *Poo to get and to learn about *Poo’s that we discovered there was not much information available. It was frustrating trying to navigate through search engines, book stores and pet stores looking for advice or information. But, it was worth the effort. What we discovered was that *Poos are very special.
