Michel is founder and president of Managing God's Money® devoted to teaching effective
stewardship. He volunteered as an adjunct professor of business administration at Briercrest
College and Seminary, Caronport, Saskatchewan for over 10 years. He is the author of nine books, including
Business Simplified, The New Managing God's Money-The Basics translated into French as
Mes finances, Ses ressources, and three children books: Maggie's Special Gift, Best
Friends Daise an Elda, and The Invading Monster & The Peacocks.
Business Experience
Michel spent 32 years in the Alcan Inc. group (now part of Rio Tinto) in senior finance,
strategy, planning, and leadership positions, including Regional Vice President Finance and
Legal for Alcan’s Pacific subsidiary, and Chief Financial Officer for Alcan’s global bauxite and
alumina group. In July 2002, after his exciting, enjoyable, and productive 32-year career, he
left Alcan as Vice President Business Planning, to become full-time president of the private
organization, Managing God’s Money®, he started five years earlier.
Education and Awards
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom. In the
first and second years’ of the ACCA exams, he placed second and third in the world. Michel
holds a Masters of Science in Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(M.I.T), and a doctor of business administration, honoris causa, from Briercrest College and
Seminary.
Media Appearances
A radio and TV guest, and commentator, he appeared on YES TV’s 100 Huntley Street, TCT
TV, Miracle Channel, and several radio and TV programs. Weekly during 2005, he presented
Money Matters on 100 Huntley Street, and in the fall 2008, he offered several commentaries on the
credit crisis.
