Ed Steele

For 20 years Ed Steele served with his family as missionaries in Central America, concluding with 6 years as a Music Editor with the Baptist Spanish Publishing House [now Mundo Hispano] located in El Paso, Texas.

He completed a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, a Masters of Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

For 19 years he has served as a Professor of Music for the Leavell College of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, teaching courses in Worship, Music History, Hymnology, and Voice. In addition, he served as Minister of Music and Worship at the Parkview Baptist Church, in Metairie, Louisiana for 17 years.

"Worship HeartCries: Personal Preparation for Corporate Worship," is his latest project and incorporates over 30 years of study on worship. He is the author of Castle Mountain: In Search of the Mysterious Treasure, a children's mystery novel published by Tate Publishing, the composer of the SATB anthem, "It is Enough," arranged by Tom Fettke and published by Alfred Publishing, and has recorded, "Paul, to the Church at Philippi," a musical setting of the entire book of Paul's letter to the Philippians. He recently completed a musical on the book of Ruth entitled: "Ruth: God Is Our Redeemer," for soloists, choir, with narration.
