Nigel Holmes

Nigel Holmes has had a varied and eclectic career path. Always artistic and creative.

He originally trained as a signwriter, then went on to work in the art department of EMI Records at their London head office. Work took him all around the London West End theatres and recording studios like Abbey Road. He designed posters, stage sets and record covers during the end of the Beatles era. Even a promotional Frisbee for Paul McCartney.

Once freelance, he designed covers for a number of record companies and stage scenery for Elton John.

Eventually Holmes picked up a camera and built himself a worldwide reputation as a photographer of models in the glamour and fashion industry.

He has created hundreds of magazine articles and written and illustrated fifteen books. One small volume has been continuously in print for nearly 40 years and has even been translated into Chinese. Nigel's book of his specially produced photographs has made several thousand pounds for charity.

On retirement Nigel took up writing stage and pantomime scripts. These have been produced all over the UK and many parts of the world. Shows that have run in small theatres and some as big as the huge SSE stadium.

Other passing occasions have been things like working in a travelling circus as a ringmaster. Being a judge for the heats of Miss World with Lady Diana’s wedding dress designer David Emanuel. Appearing on children’s TV for the BBC, and interviews and demonstrations for Channel 4, plus local and national TV and radio shows.
