Joi L. Morris

Joi L. Morris (Santa Monica, CA) is co-founder of the nonprofit HeritX (www.HeritX.org). HeritX's mission is preventing inherited cancer, starting with inherited BRCA cancer through a unique and innovative research program that integrates biopharmaceutical drug development expertise into all research programs from the outset, leading to a higher likelihood of success. Joi is passionate about for including the voice of the patient community in research.

Joi is also a BRCA2 carrier, an experienced lawyer and patient advocate as well as an author. Her book with Dr. Ora Karp Gordon, Positive Results: Making the Best Decisions When You’re at High Risk for Breast or Ovarian Cancer, is the first consumer guidebook on BRCA cancers and was awarded as one of the best consumer medical books of 2010 by the American Medical Writers Association.
