Alan Robbins

Alan Robbins is an award-winning writer, graphic artist, and educator.

He is the author of 60 mystery, puzzle, graphic, and humor books. His novels have won CAPS/NEA, Writer's Notes, and Reader Views awards for fiction and his essays on the lighter side of technology have appeared in The New York Times and Newsweek magazine.

Mr. Robbins is also a nationally known designer of games and puzzles, including 30 mystery jigsaw puzzles, a unique combination of mystery story and jigsaw game, that have more than a million fans nationwide.

As a graphic artist, his designs, cartoons, and illustrations have appeared in numerous magazines, books, and publications.

His YouTube channel of entertaining videos has almost 10 million hits.

Mr. Robbins was the Janet Estabrook Rogers Professor of Visual and Performing Arts and the founding director of The Design Center at Kean University until his retirement in 2018. His innovative work with students has won many design awards and been featured in The Newark Star-Ledger, The Chronicle of Higher Education, The New York Times, and many local papers.
