Bob Zuber

Tracy Staples-Wilson and Bob Zuber met in 2006, when they were both approaching crossroads in their lives. They have been together since, and were the first couple to marry at their B&B in 2013, once same-sex marriage became legal in Maryland. As part of their journey together, they took over Black Walnut Point Inn the summer of 2010. How this came about is the ultimate conclusion of the trilogy Dual Citizen, which the couple wrote together.

Tracy was born in Rand, West Virginia, moved briefly to Washington, D.C. and spent his childhood with his grandparents, Granny and Moody back in Rand. Since his encounter when he was three, Tracy kept a journal throughout his life. As depicted in Dual Citizen, the unusual circumstance of meeting the Tall Shiny Silver Figure, and Tracy’s amazing recollection of the events, quotes, and supernatural interactions are what make the story of his life so realistic and engaging.

Bob was born in mid-coast New Jersey before moving to mid-coast Maine when he was eight. There he met journaling hippies on Hurricane Island in the 1970’s, and discovered his interest in writing. This took root in earnest shortly before he and Tracy met, and some of Bob’s humorous stories were published in Maine, Boats, Homes and Harbors magazine, and are incorporated in his childhood memoir, Christmas Convergence. After Bob met Tracy he spent more time writing, and Bob wrote his futuristic coming of age novel Belm.

After Tracy and Bob were introduced to Black Walnut Point Inn in 2007, they began writing Dual Citizen. The project was curtailed when they became full time Innkeepers in 2010. However, by April of 2018, they finished and self published the trilogy. Starting when Tracy is shown the Inn when he is three, the series recounts Tracy’s relationship with the Tall Shiny Silver Figure, and continues until Tracy and Bob reach Black Walnut Point forty years later.

Since then, the pair has read the book and produced its podcast, which is hosted by Podbean. They self-published Christmas Convergence, which is also read by the author, and Bob included choral excerpts from his many years directing choirs. More is on the way, as Belm will soon be published, and the duo has begun sketching the continuation of Dual Citizen.
