Rebecca E. Hirsch

Rebecca E. Hirsch is an award-winning children’s author and science writer. She grew up playing in the woods, earned a doctorate in the life sciences, and worked in laboratories as a plant biologist before she wrote her first book for kids (Top 50 Reasons to Care About Polar Bears). She has gone on to publish one hundred books, all for young readers, nearly all about science and nature. In her home state of Pennsylvania, she teaches science and writing as an author in the schools.
