It was during the Six Day War of 1967 when the Jewish State was forced to defend itself against its hostile Arab neighbors. It was my decisioin to volunteer my services to Israel in order to help relieve the pressures of men and women having to go to war while all services to the young nation came to an abrupt stop. I volunteered to work on a farm for a while, and that ended when I met this young lovely blonde Sabra who did eventually become my wife and the mother of two teriffic children. As with every other new immigrant, I did my basic training, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the regular forces of the IDF. I served as a young officer in the capacity of Liason Officer to the the United Nations for two years, and was eventually scouted and recruited by a talent spotter for the illustrious Mossad. Having endured months of intensive training,I was finally dispatched to the European field of operations where my duties were to monitor the movements of the terrorist organizations in France. They had already drawn up plans to kill as many Jews and Christians as possible, and part of my job was to see that they didn't meet their objectives. Mossad, Cia and MI6 joined forces and gathered information that eventually led to the dismantleing of some of the Radical Islamist groups. My book 'Waltzing with the Wicked' is a fact based account of those years spent in Europe.It also tells the story about what a covert operative must endure in his personal life. Everything that is deemed normal for the average person is non-existent for an active operative. It takes its toll on the agent, his family and everyone else he once knew. Was it all worth the effort? Would I do it again if offered the opportunity? Those are two of the questions that I'm unable to answer. Still, I'm proud to have served my country and its citizens in such an esteemed capacity.
