Joey Michael Vasques

Joey Michael Vasques has written here and there online - as 'Tragic Rabbit'* - accumulating a cult following of nearly a dozen avid fans and one court-certified stalker. He lives in the badlands of California and tries - without success - to avoid the more poisonous denizens of the desert.

He is currently working on a Depression-era romance (his grandparents' love story), a 1950s 'train mystery' and setting up paints for a series of children's books. He also does freelance essays and humorous OpEd.

Vasques, former teacher and single parent with grown daughters, is a writer, storyteller, poet, humorist and, along with tiny service dog Oona O'Neill Chaplin, a certified support facilitator for Lupus Foundation of America, serving others with SLE - systemic lupus erythematosus. He firmly believes that his best work - on all counts - is yet to come.
