Debra McClure-Smith has lived in Indianapolis, Indiana since she was five years old. She attended Indiana University and graduated with a B.A. in history and anthropology. Deb's love of working with people and her healthy lifestyle eventually led her to a health food store back in 1979. She spends a lot of time reading and researching nutrition trends, supplements and recipes that will benefit her private clients and customers. She has been teaching vegetarian cooking classes, to people of all ages, since 1980. Indianapolis Monthly named her the Vegetarian Cook of the Year in 1999 - the only year they gave an award in this category.
Deb has devoted much of her life to helping others feel good. Her loyal base of customers and students are willing to follow her wherever she goes. Deb lives with her husband, Harrison and their three finicky (yet adorable) cats.
