Louis B. Weeks

Louis Weeks (b.1941) grew up in the Memphis TN and Greenville MS, attended universities and seminary along the East Coast, married Carolyn from upstate NY, served as a missionary in Congo (Zaire), served as stated supply and interim pastor in churches in North Carolina and Kentucky while he taught, mostly at Louisville Seminary. In 1994 he became president of Union Seminary in Virginia, soon Union-PSCE when it merged, and soon Union-PSCE in Richmond and Charlotte when degree programs began in North Carolina in 2002. He loves writing about congregations and Christians, case studies and histories.

He has taught faculty workshops and made accrediting visits in more than 50 seminaries. He has preached and taught, sometimes consulted, in more than 400 congregations. Listening and learning about seminaries and churches, he now can write about them-- for books such as All For God's Glory: Redeeming Church Scutwork (Alban, 2008) and To Be a Presbyterian, Revised Edition (Geneva, 2010). His articles have appeared recently in Christian Century, Presbyterian Outlook, and websites such as Alban Institute, Faith and Leadership, and Resourcing American Christianity.
