Peter V. Tafuri

Peter V. Tafuri is a writer, book dealer, organic vegetable grower and freelance scholar. Born in Brooklyn in 1950, he has lived in New York, Colorado and France. He holds undergraduate degrees in history and biology, a master's in counseling, and studied for two years at the University of Paris. He left the corporate world in 1989 and moved to a farm in Pennsylvania where he resides with his wife.

He is an avid reader, with an extensive knowledge of folklore, religion, fairy tales, legends, mythology and literature of ancient times and the Middle Ages. His books are designed to hold attention, convey the sense of wonder, and provide a positive reading experience, so important in this age of video games and other distractions.

His rescue dog, Bella, the inspiration for the book "The Christmas Dog", is a registered Therapy Dog, and a proud member of the Welcome Waggers. This is a group of canine pets and their parents active in northeast Pennsylvania which makes regular visits to nursing homes, hospitals, libraries and other places where a little "puppy" love is needed. Funds are also raised for local animal shelters.
