Emily wrote some wacky stories, and you should probably read one just to see if you like it. The shortest, easiest to read, is Breakfast of Scallywags, so maybe start with that. On the other hand, Hunting the Rose is arguably the best story. Maybe. The most boring-est? That MIGHT be Bea and the Smart Kids, but I don't want to influence you, so I take that back. The purest, most ridiculous, most unadulterated by marketing considerations, (and also the longest,) is The Legend of Logjam. My dad liked it. Actually, I might even send you a free copy, if you want one.
