David A. Sims

David A. Sims (PhD, Durham University) was born in 1961 in Winter Park, Florida, to Dave and Joyce Sims, both of whom are native Floridians. After earning an undergraduate degree in business administration/finance and law degree from the University of Florida (1983, 1986), he practiced law in Central Florida from 1986 to 1999. During this time, he earned a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando Campus, 1994). in May 1999, he moved with his family to Little Rock, Arkansas, to work with FamilyLife. During this time, he earned doctorate in theology from the University of Durham in Durham, England (2006). He is the author of The Child in American Evangelicalism and the Problem of Affluence: A Theological Anthropology of the Affluent American-Evangelical Child in Late Modernity (Pickwick: Eugene, OR 2009), which is an updated version of his doctoral thesis. David chairs the Department of Theological Studies and teaches Systematic Theology, Moral Theology and Church History at the Anglican School of Ministry in Little Rock, Arkansas. He also serves on the Advisory Council for Peacemaker Ministries (www.Peacemaker.net) and is an associate staff member of FamilyLife (www.FamilyLife.com). He is the founder and president of BGW Financial Services (www.bgwfinancial.com) and founder and Chairman of the Board of BRS Consulting (www.brs-consulting.com), both of which are based in Little Rock, Arkansas, but represent individual and institutional clients across the country.
