Michelle D. Sonnier

Michelle D. Sonnier works in a Purgatory built of fuzzy boxes and fluorescent lights called a cube farm. But she hears a siren call that keeps her awake at night with her fingers on the keyboard and her mind in another world. Some would call it insanity, but she calls it being a writer, which may very well be the same thing.

Michelle first knew she wanted to be a writer in fourth grade. Since then, she has made up stories - first in other people's worlds and then her own. Her specialty is urban fantasy fiction. In her stories the Angel of Death serves coffee in a New York diner and Baba Yaga has to break herself out of an old folk's home.

Michelle is currently at work on a collection of short stories connected to Baltimore, with strange carnivals under the Jones Falls Expressway and mermaids performing magic in the Inner Harbor. She lives in Maryland with two cats and modest dreams of fame and fortune won by her pen, being a critical darling and smashing commercial success would be just fine.
