Robert J. Gagnon

Robert J Gagnon was born in Camden, N. J. in 1960. The family relocated in Florida when Robert turned 8. Growing up in Pompano Beach in the 60's and 70's on the edge of Ft Lauderdale exposed the author to multiple influences, from the flower children that roamed the streets, to the notorious drug trade that flourished in the middle and high school level.

At age 13 he worked as a busboy at a popular Lauderdale restaurant before falling into alcohol and drug abuse which led to the tragic events chronicled in his first book "053803: Life at Fifteen". Twelve years after his release from DOC, Gagnon began to work on his partial biography. Half way through the book, Gagnon was interrupted by an attempt on his life executed by an ex-felon that believed he was mentioned in the manuscript. For four years the book was shelved until the courts made a decision on the death resulting from this attack.

In the last ten years the author has assisted in the start-up of a charter school for troubled teens, and spoken to problem kids, hoping they might learn from his mistakes. Currently the author is working on three books simultaneously. A text book on reel grinding, "Micco" which outlines the events mentioned above, and a self help book.
