Uwe Gottschalk

Uwe Gottschalk is Operating Partner at Keensight Capital, a European Growth Buyout Investor in Technology and Healthcare.

He was CTO and CSO at Lonza where he led the global Research.

Dr. Gottschalk served as Group VP at Sartorius with a global responsibility for separation technology. Before he worked for Bayer Health Care, overseeing process development and manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals.

Uwe earned his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Münster and Nottingham with a thesis on ADCs. He has written extensively in the areas of downstream processing, industrial biotechnology and somatic gene therapy. In academia, he was Head Lecturer at the University of Duisburg-Essen and lectured at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Lausanne.

Uwe was board member of the Association of German Biotech Companies. He sits on the editorial advisory boards of Pharmaceutical Bioprocessing, Genetic Engineering News and BioPharm International. He is honorary member of the Society for BioChromatography and member of the American Chemical Society. He received the Bioprocessing Lifetime Achievement Award in Singapore and the ​BioTalk Lifetime Award. Uwe is a Board Member at 3PBiovian – an end-to-end biopharmaceutical CDMO.
