Robert S. Cutler

Robert S. Cutler (1933 -- ) is an engineering management professor at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. (USA). He earned a B.S.degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a master's degree in Management Science from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Mr. Cutler was a policy research analyst at the National Science Foundation (1973-1990) and a Fulbright Fellow at University of Tokyo (1986-1987).

He wrote numerous articles in his field and edited three books: Science in Japan, (1987); Engineering in Japan, (1991); and Technology Management in Japan, (1993).

In 1977, he completed a 20-year flying career as a navigator in the US Air Force Reserve. During the Vietnam War, he served as a combat crew navigator on C-141 and C-5A transport aircraft.

In August 1999, he traveled to Australia to conduct research for a book about the US Army Air Forces in Australia during the Second World War. Material for his latest book, "Mackay's Flying Fortress," was drawn from his recently published article,"World War II B-17C Air Crash in Australia - Uncovered,"

(Air Power History, Spring 2003).
