J.M. Harrison (Jonathan) is an award-winning author, musician and poet whose work explores the relationship between creativity, awareness and authentic living.
He is the creator of Universal Flow and author of The Flow Series, which includes Get Out the Way!, Simply Noticing, Words From Nowhere and Letters from Elysium.
Blending psychology, philosophy, humour and practical wisdom, Jonathan's books offer a fresh perspective on creativity and everyday life. Through the concepts of Universal Flow and Doris—the well-meaning but overprotective ego that keeps us caught in fear, comparison and overthinking—he invites readers to recognise how their own thinking can get in the way of living freely and creatively.
The Flow Series is a map to understanding the patterns of conditioned thinking that shape our experience, and discovering the natural intelligence, clarity and freedom that emerge when we stop trying to control life and begin participating in its flow.
Jonathan's writing encourages readers to look beyond familiar ways of thinking and rediscover greater awareness, creativity, presence and inner freedom.
Following a profound transformative experience in 2007, Jonathan began a lifelong exploration of consciousness, creativity and human potential. As an author and teacher, he has shared platforms with internationally recognised speakers including Barbara Marx Hubbard, Gregg Braden, Barbara Rother and Eric Pearl.
Before becoming an author, Jonathan enjoyed an award-winning career in music, receiving a Gold Disc in 1990.
His literary work has received international recognition, including:
- Editor's Choice Award — AllBooks International (USA), Spirituality & Inspiration (2009)
- Finalist — Best Books Awards, USA Book News, Spirituality (2010)
- Winner — Beverly Hills International Book Awards®, Visionary Fiction (2016)
At the heart of all his work is a simple invitation:
Get out of your own way.
Stop fighting the flow.
Start living your extraordinary ordinary.
