Brook Blander is an accomplished novelist and poet known for her compelling fiction and resonant poetry. Her six published works include the evocative historical novel, The Secrets of Mercy, which profoundly reveals the narratives of women forging new lives in the wake of emancipation. Her short fiction and poetry have been featured in anthologies such as Michigan's Thursday Night Write, Detour Detroit, and G.R.I.T.S. (sometimes under the pseudonym B.B. Doyle).
Beyond her writing, Blander extends her passion as a Literary Writing Coach and Developmental and Line Editor for Women of Color writers at ebonyLotus WriteLife Studio, drawing daily inspiration from her Southern roots and ancestral blessings.
When not working, she enjoys traveling, being a dedicated foodie, and cuddling with her ridiculously spoiled furbabies.
Other works include: From This Day Forward (2003), Soul Spoken (2005), Lyrics of an Awakening (2007), Personal: Intimate Comforts of Reflection (2009), and now that I'm here: lyrics from the mud to the sun (2010).
