Paul Pinn

I was once asked if I would ever write an autobiography. I said I already had, in part, and it could be found scattered throughout my books. My writing is a reflection of life, sometimes distorted, sometimes magnified, often stripped down to the quintessential. My characters can be a mix of people I've known, or simply strangers I have observed. Locations are places I have been to and are frequently foreign. I like the unusual and the unpredictable, a strong pulse and sense of realism. The weird, the underdog, the anti-hero are all welcome as the underbelly of human nature is given substance, the virgin clay worked into any number of genres: crime, psycho-thriller, dark fantasy, horror, SF, magic realism.

I have eight published books and during the past twenty years I have seen over 130 stories published in a variety of magazines and anthologies, plus articles, poetry and other stuff. I have been twice-nominated for British Fantasy Society awards, was a finalist in the Ian St. James Awards, and have been given 'honourable mentions' many times in the Year's Best Horror and Fantasy series of books.

On a more personal note, I've got a long CV and a high mileage. You can find me at paulpinn.webs.com and elsewhere on the net.
