Ted L. Simpson

Ted Simpson is an educator, explorer, and longtime author whose work spans technology, history, and storytelling. A Cengage author and University of Wisconsin instructor, he’s known for making complex subjects clear and accessible.

Teds travels through ancient Toltec and Maya sites inspired Blue Serpent, a mythic historical novel exploring the possibility of Norse explorers reaching Mesoamerica centuries before the Spanish arrived. Ted blends research, real world experience, and imagination to bring ancient cultures to life.

When not writing, he enjoys sailing, fishing, cross country skiing, and serving his community, including his time as president of the Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association.
