Holly Stacey has been writing ever since she could hold a pen. Her stories have been published in various anthologies and publications and most are interlaced with ancient folklore or history, inspired by her two degrees in archaeology and her passion for reading folk tales. When not writing or reading, she's researching (which includes haunting record offices and libraries, many visits to castles, participating in sword fights and dressing up). She has worked in several museums and with archaeology teams, and has excavated Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Pictish, Victorian and pre-historic sites. Now she mostly digs in her garden and writes.
Her first published book, 'The Faerie Conspiracies', won runner up for the children's category of the Writer's News Self Publishing Award 2009. She also has a book of children's stories, 'Magic in the Mist', published with Knowonder!, a publisher dedicated to producing great stories and literacy for children. Her historical fiction still holds elements of magic, but with much more historic background. 'Blood Tide, A Promise of Freedom', is her first historical fiction set in 1733 about a mulatto slave who becomes swept into piracy.
She is currently working on a new series of YA urban folklore, be sure to read the first, 'Full Moon App'.
