Michael G. Moore

Michael Grahame Moore is Professor of Education in the Graduate School at the Pennsylvania State University. Widely known in academic circles for developing the theory of distance education in the early 1970’s, he is the founder (1986) and editor of The American Journal of Distance Education. More than a hundred scholarly publications include Distance Education: a Systems View (with translations in Chinese, Portugese, Korean and Japanese) and The Handbook of Distance Education. From 1996-8 he was Visiting Scholar in the Human Development Department at the World Bank, and 2008-9 Visiting Professor at the UK Open University and Visiting Fellow, University of Cambridge. He most enjoys the time he can spend at his UK home in County Durham.
