Robin Winter

Robin Winter first wrote and illustrated a manuscript on 'Chickens and their Diseases' in second grade. Born in Nebraska, she's lived in a variety of places, Nigeria, New Hampshire, upper New York state and California. She pursues a career in oil painting under the name of Robin Gowen, specializing in landscape, and her work can be viewed at Sullivan Goss Gallery in Santa Barbara. She will be hanging a new show of paintings for June-July 2021. Winter is married to a paleobotanist, who corrects the science in both her paintings and her stories. She's published science fiction short stories, and her first novel, a historical thriller, NIGHT MUST WAIT came out October, 2012 through Imajin Books of Edmonton, Canada.

In NIGHT MUST WAIT, four American women friends pursue power in Africa, until the explosion of the Nigerian civil war triggers a murderous civil war between them.

Eternal/Damnation Press, now Caliburn Press, published her novel FUTURE PAST, released May 1, 2013. In this dystopian science fiction novel a man attempts to escape his past by travel in time, but the consequences may cost him his soul. This novel is part of a series "Future Earth" with three more novels in process, two currently (spring 2021) in the editing stage.

Winter has another science fiction novel as well, published April 20th 2015. WATCH THE SHADOWS is a horror/thriller set in Southern California, in the college town of Isla Vista and was published by White Whisker Press.

In the midst of covid-19, the author finally went back to reformat NIGHT MUST WAIT to publish a revised edition of the novel as an e-book, now that the rights have reverted to her. It's available, and if you have Kindle unlimited, it's free! Enjoy, and please leave a review, even if you don't like it. Winter figures that her next book and future writing will be improved by any and all input from readers.
